After a (not so brief) hiatus, we're BACK. TRU Radio + Beauty Bar(Dallas)

Okay, okay, I know we've been quiet(to say the least) but after a bit of a sojourn  and "disconnection"(pun intended) from the local scene, we're here(like poltergeists) to bring down the walls  with a couple of things to get everyone's disco juice flowing as we head toward the fall.

First things first - we're doing part 2(of a 2 part feature) internet radio show Monday August 20th on Disco's  Revenge's resident Gavin Guthrie's label based channel T.R.U. RADIO  featuring Disco's Revenge residents Rick Simpson and Mr. Daishiki Jones with interviews, music, music mixes and all sorts of  tomfoolery.

Tune in  HERE  starting at 6PM(US-CDT) or if you are local, we are streaming live from the cozy environs of Dallas' historical Deep Ellum district at Off The Record.  Last show was a blast and this edition promises the same warm fuzzy vibe.

Then on the 28th(August), we are doing a little POP UP type event at Beauty Bar Dallas for their renowned "Turnstile Tuesday"  weekly event.

Past Beauty Bar Dallas guests have included such  legendary DJ/producers such as The Juan Mclean, JT Donaldson, Mystic Bill, Convextion and Mariel Ito(Maceo Plex), along with rising local Dallas luminous and rising stars -  Cygnus and Blixaboy(Wanz Dover), making noise on the international  electro scene.

Expect our unique brand of  "call & response" funk infused,  electronic fortified, analog fueled, discotized, dirty and raw beats and rhythms.

New Residency || The Nines || Deep Ellum || Starting Feb. 24th

Well, after a bit of a hiatus over the holidays, we are back in 2017 with a brand new direction and a brand new venue.  

STARTING FRIDAY, FEBRUARY THE 24TH

After 2+ years at The Crown & Harp, we have made the bittersweet decision to switch gears and relocate to a BRAND NEW RESIDENCY in Dallas' historical and cultural nightlife and music district, DEEP ELLUM, located slightly east of downtown Dallas, in Dallas' newest nightclub, THE NINES(formerly known as The Redlight).

With this move, we feel that we have a bit more "space" in order to better realize our vision and to bring our message of unity to more people --- we have a larger pulpit and platform to spread love onto our dance floor and to further advance our mission of presenting  quality underground dance music championing the  ethos and creed established decades ago in the mecca's of dance music, New York, Chicago and Detroit, which laid the groundwork of Disco, House and Techno music(respectfully), a cultural phenomenon which later swept the entire planet and has since morphed and blossomed into a globally interconnected culture from Berlin to Tokyo, from Johannesburg to London, and all points in between. 

We are blessed  to be able to include ourselves in this "underground network" of kindred souls joined together by our love and passion for the unity of the dance floor.

With that being said, please join us on our maiden voyage as we embark on a glorious new chapter of our perpetual quest to find the perfect beat.

Local Jocks Spark A Return to the Roots of Underground Dance Music Culture in Dallas.

BENDING and breaking, re-conceptualizing, remolding   and rebuilding upon pre-conceived notion of how underground dance music  is defined,  while staying true and focused to the universal  ethos of dance floor harmony since 2010, we are continuing our journey in 2016, dedicated to preserving the culture with our special blend of House, Techno and Disco.

Holding court every 3rd Saturday, at our current home at The Crown & Harp in Dallas for the past year,  we've  slowly but surely,  creating a organic and holistic environment for the music and culture unique to Dallas and the metroplex - there's nothing quite like it in the entire state of Texas.

Our current roster are avid collectors, talented producer, promoters, deejays  who are extremely passionate about preserving  the music and culture along with  it's  history by  building upon it's legacy - always moving forward, while acknowledging the importance of the traditions which were the blueprints and foundation for the culture.

Both Ricky Simpson and Mr. Daishiki Jones have been a  integral part of helping to shape the local underground dance music landscape for the past 20+ years and  newest member, Gavin Guthrie is Dallas' "wunderkind" who is taking the world by storm with his highly regarded releases on acclaimed labels such as L.I.E.S. and Creme Organization and his new label, T.R.U.(Texas Recordings Underground), under his guise as TX Connect.

Saturday March 8th was one for the ages as we welcomed RA HORIZONS to Dallas for a evening of disco, techno, boogie & house @ Circuit 12 Contemporary .

With a aire of heightened expectancy, for one night, Dallas was transformed into a disco haven as special guest Hunee along with TX Connect and Mr. Daishiki Jones provided the soundtrack for the dance floor.

ZERNELL GILLIE [Grimy! Edits -LA/Chicago] @ Circuit 12 Contemporary

  DISCO'S REVENGE is taking the party [Saturday Nov. 16th] to Dallas' Design District for our latest soiree in order to bring the metroplex a different "vibe" to the music and culture.

We are hosting this edition at CIRCUIT 12 CONTEMPORARY , which is one of the newest and most innovative hubs for modern art in the DFW metroplex.  

DISCO'S REVENGE is proud to bring to Dallas, for the very first time, ZERNELL GILLIE, who is fast becoming the poster child for those who love disco re-edits. The Chicago bred, LA resident, cut his teeth on the fertile dance floors of Chicago's nascent House Music scene  as a protege of the legendary Music Box resident, Ron Hardy, who was introduced to Zernell by the equally legendary Gene Hunt.   

  His boutique label, GRIMY! EDITS is one of the world's top re-edit labels with each release selling out at record stores worldwide.  Each release captures the essence and vibe of the early House scene, yet updates the soundtrack to fit 21st century tastes.  Retro without feeling outdated is how you could describe the overall vibe of the label.

    

After a successful European tour that included stops in the U.K., Germany, France, Sweden and the Netherlands, Zernell is fast becoming one of the most sought after dj's on the global circuit.  In Los Angeles , he hosts and guests at some of the hottest events on the West Coast.

If that's not enough, we also have a local Dallas talent who in the span of a year or two, has caught the attention of the global underground House Music community with his unique take on classic Chicago House and Detroit Techno sounds.  GAVIN GUTHRIE under his production alias, TX CONNECT, has put the international dance music community on notice with his releases on Brooklyn record label, L.I.E.S.(Long Island Electrical Systems) and Glasgow based label, Dixon Avenue Basement Jams. 

Rounding out the festivities is , the enigma himself, international man of mystery, DISCO'S REVENGE resident dj, MR. DAISHIKI JONES.

DISCO'S REVENGE & Three Olives Vodka present: "House 4 The Holidaze"

As the holidays are fast approaching we decided it was time to put on our next party so we are hosting a little soiree at ZUBAR on Saturday Dec. 3rd.

To add to the merriment THREE OLIVES VODKA will be in the house promoting their latest flavor creation...just in the nick of time for the seasonal festivities.

And keeping with the holiday spirit we will be taking part in CAPTAIN HOPE'S KIDS annual "Coats For Kids" donation drive which hopes to provide 500 NEW winter coats for homeless children in the metroplex. We will have a donation box set up so you can just drop your donation off with no hassles.

The sound pilots for the evening will DISCO'S REVENGE residents Mr. Daishiki Jones & Israel Marcano throwing down the spiciest underground dance music in the Southwest. Everything from deep house to tech house to nu disco to classic disco and classic house...

INVASION OF THE BOOTY SNATCHERS @ Zubar (10.28.11)

Okay, Okay...I know it's been a minute or two...BUT...we're back...just in time for Halloween...so you know this edition is gonna be off the richter scale. For the second Halloween in a row DISCO'S REVENGE is taking over the backroom of Zubar. As a matter of fact, Zubar is where our little party got its start NYE almost two years ago...(video)...wow...its been that long...seems like only yesterday.

Last Halloween was a blast, with a varied assortment of ghouls, goblins, zombies, sexy nurses & slutty nuns grooving and grinding away to the thumping beat....ahhhh...the memories...

So this year we've decided to up the ante...we are giving away $100 cold hard cash(Zubar backroom only) to the person with the craziest/sexiest/skimpiest/humorous/creative costume....you pick the costume...and we'll pick the winner...no specific categories...just whatever catches our eye at the moment...

and to get the party off to a swinging start...vodka drinks will be $1 until 11pm...

Providing the musical entertainment will be Disco's Revenge resident jocks...Israel Marcano and Mr. Daishiki Jones spinning the hottest underground house, disco, tech-house from around the world.

THE HOUSE OF VIRGO: A Musical Celebration for the Virgo's

Okay friends and family, we are coming back to the Absinthe Lounge for more in the month of September(Friday the 9th) with a special edition of DISCO'S REVENGE. We will be celebrating the astrological sign of Virgo with our patented "disco" blend of deep house, tech house, nu disco, classic disco and other audiotastic delights for your dancing feet.

Last month's edition was a blast and this one will be even more insane(we all know how Virgos love a good party).

This is gonna be a good one with resident dj's Israel Marcano and Mr. Daishiki Jones(throwing down a very special set for fellow Virgos) manning the decks...so this night has debauchery written all over it.

We've been busy spreading the DISCO'S REVENGE seed across the nation and around the globe(check out the recent interviews with the Snuff Crew from Germany, Lady D from Chicago and Duane Harriott from NYC). To our knowledge, there isn't any other event/project/blog in the Dallas metroplex that showcases the culture & music quite like we do.

And what EXACTLY is that we do you ask yourself???? Well for starters there isn't any other event in North Texas that features underground music ie. deep house, techno, nu disco, classic disco, tech house, classic house with one eye focused on the rich history of the culture while the other eye is creating new "classics" by featuring the hottest music from around the globe. Hence the tagline:

"Respecting the influences of the past that were the template for the present which in turn influences the future"

DISCO'S REVENGE and "HOUSE" invade The Fallout Lounge 7-30-11

Okay DISCO'S REVENGE family, get ready for some complete lunacy this time because we are taking our little party "on the road"(sort of). For this edition we are dropping in at The Fallout Lounge in Exposition Park on the outskirts of Deep Ellum. If you haven't been yet, the Fallout has been described as the "antithesis" of the city's "see- and- be- seen, must- be- on- the- guest- list meat markets". The Fallout was voted Dallas' Best nightclub by the Dallas Observer in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

It's the first time we've set up shop at the Fallout, and we are planning a good one. We are calling this one "HOUSE" as we do it "old school" style for the 21st century.

As always, we will be have reinforced sound for that extra ( ((KICK)) ) and wonderful light show to go along with the ha, ha, ha, ha, HOUSE MUSIC to keep your bodies moving on the dancefloor. Your audio guides for the evening will be DISCO'S REVENGE resident dj's MR. DAISHIKI JONES & ISRAEL MARCANO.

And if THAT isn't enough for you...just because we are special like that...we're gonna have a $3 DRINK MENU!!! YEP...you heard correctly...TRES DOLARES!!!
